ADC - The Art Directos Club Scholarship

Open to talented sophomores and juniors enrolled in accredited art schools and colleges around the country, ADC’s scholarship program embodies the club’s mission to recognize excellence and innovation in visual communications, to bring together creative leaders across the boundaries of their disciplines, and to encourage young people entering the field.

The Art Directors Club annually awards eight scholarships:

ADCNJ - Art Directors Club of New Jersey Scholarship

The Art Directors Club of New Jersey will offer scholarship awards to New Jersey college and art school students. To participate, design professors must email completed registration forms to ScholarshipsADCNJ@gmail.com

Eligibility
Students must be matriculated for the current academic year in an accredited program that prepares its graduates for careers in advertising, graphic design, packaging design, illustration, photography, multimedia (web, interactive, animation) design. Students must be enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year college, university or recognized art school in the state of New Jersey or, reside in New Jersey and attend an out-of-state college or university.

Coca−Cola Scholars Program

The initial phase of the application is only available between August 1 and October 31.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
1. Seniors in high schools throughout the United States who meet the eligibility requirements may apply each year for one of 250 four-year, achievement-based scholarships. Students will find the application link on this web-page between August 1 and October 31. The deadline is October 31st and the student must be a senior at the time of application.

2. Approximately 2,200 applicants will be selected as Semifinalists in mid-November and notified by mail and email. Semifinalists must then complete a secondary application, including essays, official transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. Semifinalist applications will be due by mid-January. Our Program Review Committee will select 250 Finalists to advance to the final interview phase. Notifications are sent mid-February.

3. In April, the 250 Finalists are invited to Atlanta for personal interviews. The Finalists are interviewed by a National Selection Committee representing outstanding leaders in business, government, education and the arts. 50 students are then designated as National Scholars and receive awards of $20,000 for college; 200 students are designated as Regional Scholars and receive awards of $10,000 for college.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

APPLICANTS MUST BE:
• CURRENT high school (or home-schooled) seniors attending school in the United States (or select DoD schools);
• U.S. Citizens; U.S. Nationals; U.S. Permanent Residents; Temporary Residents (in a legalization program); Refugees; Asylees; Cuban-Haitian Entrants; or Humanitarian Parolees;
• anticipating completion of high school diploma at the time of application;
• planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution;
• carrying a minimum 3.00 GPA at the end of their junior year of high school.

APPLICANTS MAY NOT:
• be children or grandchildren of employees, officers or owners of Coca−Cola bottling companies, The Coca−Cola Company, Company divisions or subsidiaries

Dr. Frederick Rimmele Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2001, it will be awarded to the son or daughter of a member in good standing of the Club. Qualifications:

  1. The applicant must be a full time student at a fully accredited college or university, having completed 2 semesters with a GPA of at least 3.0.
  2. Applicants may apply in subsequent years
  3. Applicants are not limited to studies in the packaging field, nor to schools in the State of NJ.

FETA Scholarship Competition

The Foundation of FTA awards scholarships to eligible candidates. Each scholarship awarded will be in the amount of $2,000. Occasionally, the Foundation of FTA will grant scholarship awards (as the funds become available) out of its General Scholarship Fund.

Student Eligibility...
To be eligible to compete for a scholarship award, the student:
Must demonstrate interest in a career in flexography* Must be a high school senior with plans to attend a post-secondary institution (proof is required) or presently enrolled at a post-secondary institution offering a course of study in flexography
Must exhibit exemplary performance in his/her studies, particularly in the area of Graphic Communications
Must have an overall GPA of at least 3.0 (NO EXCEPTIONS)

FIT - Fashion Institute of Technology NYC Scholarship

There are a variety of sources of financial aid, and requirements differ from program to program. In considering a student's need, an estimated family contribution (EFC) resulting from the filing of the FAFSA, as well as estimates of the Federal Pell Grant and the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), if the student qualifies, are deducted from the Cost of Attendance at FIT, depending upon the student's status, (i.e., commuter, dorm resident, out-of-state commuter, out-of state dorm resident, etc.) To see your Cost of Attendance (COA) please login to the FIT Portal, MyFIT and go into the online information system, you will find your Cost of Attendance under “My Overall Status of Financial Aid”.

FPA's 2009 Flexible Packaging Academic Scholarship and Summer Internship Program

Established in 2005, the FPA Flexible Packaging Scholarship & Summer Internship Program provides career development opportunities for packaging, printing or other areas of concentration utilized in the converting industry, and encourage them to enter the flexible packaging industry.

 

The program combines summer internships at FPA converter member companies with 10 FPA academic scholarships valued at $3,000 each. Internships are available in a variety of disciplines and locations for the summer of 2009.

TO APPLY:
To apply for FPA’s 2009 Flexible Packaging Academic Scholarship and Summer Internship Program:

  • Review list of potential internships available with FPA converter members for summer 2009
  • Complete the 2009 program application
  • Provide a letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • Submit a short essay (500 words or less) on the following:
    How you expect to apply what you have learned in your course work to an internship with a flexible packaging converter.

You may also apply and submit your application, letter of recommendation and essay by one of the following methods:

IFT Foundation Scholarships - Freshman/Sophmore

Institute of food technologies
The purpose of the Freshman/Sophomore Scholarship program is to attract and encourage outstanding students to enter the field of food science/technology. Applicants for undergraduate scholarships must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an IFT-approved food science/technology program.

Freshman Scholarships
Awarded to scholastically outstanding high school graduates or seniors expecting to graduate from high school entering college for the first time in an approved program in food science/technology. Deadline to submit materials to your department head is February 15.
(15) $1,000 Institute of Food Technologists Foundation
General scholarships from the IFT Foundation Scholarship Fund.
If possible, scholarships are not awarded to more than two students attending the same college.

(1) $1,000 IFT Student Association George R. Foster Memorial
Scholarship in memory of IFT employee George R. Foster.


Sophomore Scholarships
Awarded to scholastically outstanding freshman with at least a 3.0 GPA (A=4.0), either pursuing or transferring to an approved program in food science/technology. Deadline to submit materials to your department head is March 1.
(15) $1,000 Institute of Food Technologists Foundation
General scholarships from the IFT Foundation Scholarship Fund.

IFT Foundation Scholarships - Graduate

The Institute of Food Technologies
IFT supports and encourages outstanding research in food science and technology through more than 39 graduate scholarships totaling $88,500. Research in such disciplines as genetics, horticulture, nutrition, microbiology, biochemistry, engineering, chemistry, etc., is not eligible unless it is directly related to food science/technology.

These scholarships are made possible by contributions to the IFT Foundation and sponsor commitments. Deadline to submit materials to your department head is February 1.

Please note a written report is required at the midpoint of the academic year by the student earning a specialized scholarship. The report should be no more than 5 typed, double-spaced pages. The applicant must forfeit his or her graduate scholarship if the research is not completed or if he or she completes the graduate degree before the end of the academic year the scholarship was awarded.

(1) $10,535 American Institute of Baking (AIB)
16 week semester course at AIB located in Manhattan, Kansas. For further details, please visit the graduate application.

(1) $2,500 Frito-Lay scholarship
Corporate scholarship funded by Frito-Lay.

(1) $5,000 General Mills

(1) $3,000 Gerber Endowment in Pediatric Nutrition
This scholarship is intended for students conducting research in nutrition with an emphasis in pediatrics. Recipients are required to provide the sponsor with a progress report in mid-December of no more than 5 typed, double-spaced pages.

(1) $1,000 IFT Carbohydrate Division
The Carbohydrate Division of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) was organized in the early 1970s to provide leadership and technical expertise in carbohydrate chemistry.

(1) $500 IFT Carbohydrate Division Second Place

(2) $2,000 IFT Food Microbiology Division
Student must be, or apply to become, a member of the IFT Food Microbiology Division at the time of the application. Student must submit a statement of interest in food microbiology, including description of career objectives and professional aspirations.

(1) $1,000 IFT Food Packaging Division
Student must be a member of the Food Packaging Division, and research must concentrate in food packaging.

(1) $1,500 IFT New York Section
Scholarship awarded to a student attending college in the Northeast.

(1) $2,500 IFT Quality Assurance Division, William A. Golomski Memorial
Student must have taken at least one course in quality assurance who demonstrates a definite interest in this specialty.

(1) $2,000 IFT Sensory Evaluation Division Silver Celebration (Master’s)
Master’s student should be able to articulate an understanding of the field of sensory science and how his or her proposed research at their selected university will add to the knowledge base.

(1) $5,000 IFT Sensory Evaluation Division Silver Celebration (Ph.D.)
A Ph.D. student should be able to outline in more detail the planned research and methods of approach. The statement of research should be no more than one (1) typed, double-spaced page.

(3) $2,500 Institute of Food Technologists Foundation
General scholarships from the IFT Foundation Scholarship Fund. If possible, scholarships are not awarded to more than two students attending the same college.

(2) $5,000 Institute of Food Technologists Foundation
General scholarships from the IFT Foundation Scholarship Fund. If possible, scholarships are not awarded to more than two students attending the same college.

(18) $2,000 Institute of Food Technologists Foundation
General scholarships from the IFT Foundation Scholarship Fund. If possible, scholarships are not awarded to more than two students attending the same college.

(1) $2,000 Society of Flavor Chemists
The scholarship is for a student conducting research either in flavor chemistry or a food technology area involving some aspect of flavor chemistry.

(1) $2,000 The Institute for Thermal Processing Specialists (Master’s)
Scholarship will be presented annually to a graduate student in a master’s program studying food science, food engineering or applied microbiology as it relates to food preservation.

(1) $2,000 The Institute for Thermal Processing Specialists (Ph.D)
Scholarship will be presented annually to a graduate student in a doctoral program studying food science, food engineering or applied microbiology as it relates to food preservation.

The Institute of Food Technologies
Through the junior/senior scholarship program, IFT encourages deserving and outstanding undergraduate students to continue pursuing a curriculum leading to a B.S. in food science/technology, and areas specifically related to those fields. Students must be enrolled in an IFT Approved Program. Deadline to submit materials to your department head is February 1.

IoPP’s AmeriStar Student Package Competition

The AmeriStar Student Package Competition honors the most innovative packages developed by students enrolled in college, university or vocational/technical school programs (undergraduate or graduate).

What's in it for you?

Kraft Food Scholarship

The Kraft Food Scholarship is a competitive program that provides awards of financial assistance to help pay
a portion of the cost of college and career training for eligible children of Kraft Foods employees.

Scholarships are offered in two categories:

  • College Scholarships for employees’ children who are high school seniors
    planning to enroll, during the following academic year, at an accredited four-year
    college or university to acquire a baccalaureate degree.
  • Vocational/Technical Scholarships for employees’ children who are high school
    seniors planning to enroll, during the following academic year, in an accredited vocational or technical program of a maximum two-year duration.

NJPEC Scholarship

The NJPEC annually awards scholarships to promising college students who are enrolled in a packaging science or packaging engineering curriculum. To qualify, you must have completed a minimum of 2 semesters of coursework and submit an application with a copy of your transcript. The selection process is based on academic achievement, financial need and extra-curricular activities: i.e membership in organizations, internships etc. Scholarship recipients receive free special NJPEC Membership status for two years.

Paul L. and Joanne L. Peoples Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to a student returning to higher education for a Bachelor's degree. To be eligible, students must be admitted to a Packaging degree program and must complete the general scholarship application and be in good academic standing at the time the award is activated. The beginning or continuing of education after a delay of any kind such as military service, employment, or childcare may constitute eligibility for this scholarship.
